GOP Lawmaker Calls Program "An Insult."

MADISON- Though it enjoys overwhelming support from parents in the more than 300 school districts in Wisconsin that offer it, state Sen. Glenn Grothman is calling 4-year-old kindergarten an ""insult" and is urging Scott Walker to end it as a way to finance tax cuts for the super-rich.

"Wisconsin always has valued education, but under Scott Walker our values are looking warped," Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Thursday. "Eliminating school funding for four-year-olds to finance tax cuts for the wealthiest among us puts a fine point on Republican willingness to take Wisconsin backward, not forward."
