Grothman knows that the more he talks about his record, the more voters will come to remember all of the extreme statements he has made in the past—that pre-school causes psychological damage, or that men care more about money than women, or that single-parenthood is a form of child abuse.
And the Grothman campaign knows that the more he speaks publicly, the more likely he is to say something completely absurd like he has in the past.
Even retiring Republican Congressman Tom Petri declined to endorse Grothman because of comments Grothman made in the past, saying, “I don't want to smother him with love or anything like that."
It is sad to see someone who used to be so proud of his conservative principles completely back down from his record and go quiet at the behest of his staff, but looking at Grothman’s record of extremism, it isn’t surprising.
So Thursday’s debate should be exciting for everyone who has been looking for Glenn Grothman. You can find him at the Vette Theater from 7:30-9:00AM at the EAA in Oshkosh, 3000 Poberezny Road, 54902
