The Democratic Party of Wisconsin is proud to announce labor and civil rights leader Tom Perez will be the special keynote speaker at this year’s State Convention. Over a thousand Democrats from all over the state will gather in Green Bay on June 3rd and 4th to kick off their 2016 election efforts and hear Mr. Perez speak about the importance of coming together to elect Democrats up and down the ballot in November.
“Tom Perez has spent his career leading the fight for equality and civil rights, supporting workers, and creating opportunities for every American,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Martha Laning. “He is one of our country’s strongest progressive voices, and we’re thrilled to have him joining us.”
The 2016 Democratic Party of Wisconsin Convention will take place from June 3-4th at the Radisson Hotel & Conference Center in Green Bay. Joining Mr. Perez will be State Chair Martha Laning, Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling, Assembly Democratic Leader Peter Barca, Congressman Ron Kind, Congresswoman Gwen Moore, Congressman Mark Pocan, U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin, Russ Feingold, and Democratic leaders and activists from across the state.
“After years of Republican politicians waging a war on workers, having a strong voice like Mr. Perez to talk about the needs for workplace protections and fair wages will be a breath of fresh air, concluded Laning. ”Wisconsinites believe in fairness and inclusion, and I know Mr. Perez wants to build an economy and labor force that works for everyone, not just CEOs and large corporations.”
