Vote on Common-Sense Background Checks: Senator Johnson a No-Show

In the wake of more tragic gun violence, yesterday the United States Senate went on record on the issue of universal background checks for gun purchases. Yet incumbent Senator Ron Johnson, in complete disregard for his responsibilities, skipped the key vote.

Why was Senator Johnson absent?  Why did he not show up to do his job? Why did he fail to vote on an issue that could help keep Americans safer?

“Senator Johnson has often said he would never vote with his reelection in mind,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Executive Director Kory Kozloski said on Friday. “Now it appears Senator Johnson has decided he doesn’t need to vote at all on one of the most pressing issues in America.”
