Vukmir is taking heat for repeatedly siding with insurance companies over Wisconsinites in need of health care coverage
MADISON — During her run for U.S. Senate, Republican Party nominee Leah Vukmir has continued to defend and stand by her long legislative record of siding with insurance companies over Wisconsinites in need of health care coverage.
- Vukmir sided with insurance companies to oppose coverage for Wisconsin cancer patients’ oral chemo treatments.
- Vukmir sided with insurance companies to oppose coverage for Wisconsin kids’ cochlear implants and hearing aids.
- Vukmir sided with insurance companies to block coverage for Wisconsinites’ mental health care and substance abuse treatments.
- Vukmir sided with insurance companies to block and vote against coverage for Wisconsinites’ autism treatments.
Now, true to her record of putting her insurance industry backers first over Wisconsinites, Vukmir is running on dismantling the ACA and gutting its protections for Wisconsinites with pre-existing conditions, and she backs “junk” plans that let insurance companies discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions.
From her votes against oral chemo coverage to her position that insurance companies should again be allowed to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions, Leah Vukmir has always put powerful insurance companies first, and repeatedly proven that she’s not on the side of hardworking, everyday Wisconsinites.
