#9. Vukmir Sold Out Wisconsin Seniors On Nursing Home Abuse
MADISON — With nine days left until Election Day, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin is continuing to count down ways that Republican U.S. Senate candidate Leah Vukmir has spent her 16 years in the state legislature working for her corporate special interest backers and selling out everyday Wisconsinites.
#9: Vukmir Sold Out Wisconsin Seniors On Nursing Home Abuse
Leah Vukmir in 2008 and again in 2011 coauthored and pushed legislation that gutted nursing home accountability and “made it more difficult to hold nursing homes accountable for wrongdoing.”
As highlighted in early October by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the measure sold out Wisconsin seniors and their families, by making it harder for them to hold abusive or neglectful nursing homes accountable, but it did benefit one group: Leah Vukmir’s longtime employers and donors.
