ICYMI: Wisconsinites Blast Ron Johnson for Abandoning Them, Enriching Himself at Their Expense

MADISON, Wis. — Yesterday, Wisconsinites gathered outside Ron Johnson’s Madison office to call out the senator’s opposition to President Biden’s Build Back Better agenda — including a middle-class tax cut, critical pandemic relief for small businesses, and once-in-a-generation investments in the state’s infrastructure. They also blasted Johnson for his ongoing tax scandal. President Biden’s agenda is clearly working. Just yesterday, U.S. unemployment claims fell to the lowest level since the pandemic started.
Despite opposing tax cuts for middle-class families in 2021, Johnson worked overtime to deliver a change in the 2017 GOP tax scam bill that ultimately benefited his own bottom line and that of his biggest donors. In addition, Johnson may have dodged paying his fair share of taxes in 2017, paying virtually nothing despite reporting nearly half a million dollars in income.
