WisDems Celebrate President Biden Signing Infrastructure Deal Into Law
MADISON, Wis. — Today, President Biden will sign the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal, delivering on his campaign promise to build Wisconsin back better. Paired with Gov. Evers’ historic investments in Wisconsin’s digital and physical infrastructure, this deal will invest in our roads and bridges and high-speed broadband for every neighborhood in Wisconsin, eliminate lead pipes and deliver clean water to every corner of the state, and tackle the climate crisis.
“Today represents the beginning of a stronger, more resilient, and more equitable future for Wisconsin,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Julia Hamelburg. “For years, Wisconsin’s infrastructure was neglected under the Walker-Kleefisch administration and Donald Trump. Thanks to Governor Evers, our state has been bouncing back and making historic strides — his first budget included nearly a half-billion dollars in transportation funding, and even during the pandemic, hundreds of road improvement projects were moving forward. Coupled with Governor Evers’ efforts, and with no help from Wisconsin Republicans, the billions of dollars in federal funding coming to Wisconsin thanks to President Biden and Democrats in Congress will usher in a new era of productivity and competitiveness for our state.”
