WHAT THEY’RE SAYING: Wisconsin Leaders Praise President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal
MADISON, Wis. — After four years of failed “infrastructure weeks” pitifully led by Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress, President Biden and Democrats in Congress have delivered an infrastructure deal that will build on Gov. Evers’ commitment to building Wisconsin back better. The Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will fund millions of infrastructure projects across Wisconsin and has been met with high praise from Wisconsin’s leaders.
Read what Wisconsin leaders are saying about President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal here:
Gov. Tony Evers: “We’ll be able to fix our roads in a more significant way… We’ve gotten thousands of miles of roads fixed in the state of Wisconsin, this will provide money for us to move that forward.” [11/7/21]
Senator Tammy Baldwin: “Our bipartisan infrastructure legislation will make sure Wisconsin receives support to improve the resiliency of our infrastructure so we are better prepared for the impacts of climate change and the next extreme weather events.” [11/8/21]
Rep. Ron Kind (WI-03): “It’s time to rebuild Wisconsin and rebuild America. Proud to vote to send the Bipartisan Infrastructure bill to @POTUS’ desk for a signature. This historic investment in our nation’s infrastructure will create good-paying jobs, grow our economy, and help us build back better.” [11/6/21]
Rep. Gwen Moore (WI-04): “Milwaukee, passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill means we’re getting rid of those lead pipes.” [11/6/21]
Rep. Mark Pocan (WI-02): “This along with the Build Back Better Act will give the economy the jumpstart it needs and put America back to work.” [11/5/21]
State Senator Chris Larson (WI-07): “Congress passed a landmark bipartisan infrastructure bill last night. Sadly, not one of Wisconsin’s 5 GOP House members supported it. Here’s a look at what’s in the package:” [11/6/21]
Milwaukee Common Council President Cavalier Johnson: “The passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Funding Bill by Congress is a giant step forward for our nation and for the City of Milwaukee. We are going to see unprecedented investments in our neighborhoods, our roads, and other critical city infrastructure starting very soon. This will create jobs, improve our quality of life, and make our economy stronger.” [11/6/21]
Wisconsin Farmers Union President Darin Von Ruden: “The passage of the Build Back Better Agenda represents a historic investment in the critical infrastructure needs of family farmers and our communities. The effects of this effort will be far-reaching, as the bill aims to strengthen our food supply chain through tremendous investment in the transportation infrastructure that family farmers rely on…” [11/8/21]
Transportation Development Association of Wisconsin Executive Director Debby Jackson: “The recently passed Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will provide long-overdue investments to help rebuild our nation’s and Wisconsin’s infrastructure. The increased investment in road, public transportation, rail, port, and airport infrastructure will lead to more good-paying jobs, greater economic competitiveness, enhanced mobility, and improved safety.” [11/8/21]
