Wisconsin Democrats Issue Statement to Honor Black History Month

(MADISON) — With February marking Black History Month, the following are statements from the leadership team at the Democratic Party of Wisconsin to honor this month:

“We are taking some time to honor February as Black History Month. This is a great time to highlight and honor the resilient and inspirational Black Wisconsinites who have worked tirelessly to make our state and our country great. Our state has not been exempt from racial inequities, with some of the worst racial disparities in the nation. It’s because of this that it is crucial for us to listen to and highlight our Black community leaders who continue to do the work to help us win elections and ensure a fair and equitable Wisconsin.”
-DPW Vice Chair Felesia Martin

“This Black History Month, we are honoring Black leaders and trailblazers who worked tirelessly to create a better future for our state and country. Throughout our history, there have been countless Black Wisconsinites who fought against racism and injustice with a commitment to equity, opportunity, and justice for all. This month, we thank them for their efforts, and tell their stories to inspire the next generation of leaders who will continue the fight for racial justice in our state and country.”
-DPW Chair Ben Wikler
