Ahead of Trump Rally, WisDems Condemn Radical Candidates for Governor

MADISON, Wis. – Hours ahead of Donald Trump’s campaign rally in support of Tim Michels, Wisconsin Democrats condemned the disgraced former president and the radical politics he and Tim Michels want to bring to Wisconsin.

Tim Michels and Rebecca Kleefisch are in a sprint to prove they are the most radical candidate in this race. Whether it’s Donald Trump’s endorsement of Tim Michels or Mike Pence’s endorsement of Rebecca Kleefisch – both candidates are wrong for Wisconsin.

State Representative Greta Neubauer: “Today’s Trump rally and this week’s Pence visit only underscore that Rebecca Kleefisch and Tim Michels are not here for Wisconsinites. They are here to pander to their ultra-MAGA base. Thankfully, Wisconsinites have a clear choice to combat their extremism: a vote to re-elect Governor Evers. Governor Evers will always do the right thing for Wisconsinites. Whether it’s funding education, protecting your right to vote, and your right to make decisions about your body, or promoting a thriving small business economy, Governor Evers is working for us.”

Chair of Waukesha County Democratic Party Matt Mareno: “It’s never a great day in your county when Donald Trump comes, because you know he’s going to bring his unique brand of radical MAGA extremism and divisive politics to your community. It’s not something we’re a fan of here in Waukesha. And today he’s [Trump] going to stump for an out-of-state millionaire candidate for governor who is looking to put his radical agenda before Wisconsinites. Whether it’s stripping critical access away to contraceptive services, making it harder for voters to cast their ballots, telling people who to love, or dictating what our schools teach, the Republican Party has put themselves firmly in the category of MAGA extremism. So let’s be very clear: Rebecca Kleefisch or Tim Michels, regardless of who wins the election, will be a Donald Trump-style MAGA extremist that’s too extreme for Wisconsin.”
