FAQ

DNC Member Election

Per Article III, Section 8 of the WisDems Constitution, the elected members of the Democratic National Committee shall be elected at the regular state convention each presidential election year, and shall assume office in the manner specified by the Democratic National Committee.

This year, the WisDems will host elections for DNC Members.

A sample ballot of the upcoming DNC Member Election can be found here.

Constitutional Amendments, Platform, & Resolutions

As a whole, the WisDems platform & resolutions outline the principles that guide our work as a State Party, as well as the policies we believe in, and the beliefs we hold. The WisDems Constitution, on the other hand, is the governing document for the State Party, dictating the policies & procedures we must follow as an organization.

This even-numbered year, the State Convention delegation will consider constitutional & platform amendments in addition to resolutions on the floor of the convention.

Prior to their circulation, a draft resolution must be passed by county party membership, and no more than 10 passed resolutions may be sent by the county to the Congressional District chair, no less than ten days before the Congressional District Convention. CD Convention delegates will then consider the drafts, and may forward no more than 10 resolutions to the WisDems Platform & Resolutions Committee via state headquarters. If passed & forwarded by the CD, the P&R Committee will review the submitted resolutions & send them to the State Convention floor for delegates to accept or reject.

For more information, please consult the WisDems Constitution & Bylaws by clicking here

This year’s proposed Platform and Resolutions can be found here.

Official business at this year’s CD Conventions will include the consideration of platform amendments & resolutions, and to elect a P&R committee member & alternate, as well as anything else the CD would like to pursue.
