After Failed Forum, Van Orden Meets Hegseth to Promote Costly War
MADISON, Wis. — Today, after floundering while attempting to answer questions at the non-partisan forum, Derrick Van Orden joined Pete Hegseth to promote the costly war in Iran at an event in Eau Claire. The war Hegseth and Van Orden loudly champion has already claimed the lives of 21 American soldiers, as well as raised the price of gas to record-high levels, which Wisconsinites are feeling in their pocketbooks at every turn.
“Just hours after telling voters at a forum in the Third Congressional District that he did not want to be in a war with Iran, Derrick Van Orden turned around and joined Pete Hegseth’s war tour to tout the Trump administration’s cost-raising and reckless agenda,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Haley King. “Van Orden thinks he can fool his constituents, but every day when they look at their bank accounts and see that they have less money because of higher prices for gas and groceries, they know Derrick Van Orden voted time and again to increase their economic suffering and they’ll cast their own votes against him at the ballot box.”
