As Kids Head Back To School, Americans Are Feeling The Pinch Caused By The GOP’s Tariff Taxes

MADISON, Wis. — In the last week a new poll revealed that over two thirds of of Americans have an unfavorable view on tariffs. This comes at a time when Wisconsin Republicans are standing strong behind the GOP policies, despite the rising costs of goods across the county. Stores like Walmart and Home Depot have noted  that they are going to be forced to raise prices as a result of the tariffs. 

“As kids are headed back to school, parents’ bank accounts are being crushed by the GOP’s tariff taxes that are raising costs on everything from groceries to electronics to back to school necessities,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Spokesperson Philip Shulman. “Every Congressional Wisconsin Republican, led by Tom Tiffany, Derrick Van Orden, and Bryan Steil, continuing to stand behind the GOP tariff taxes despite the damage it is doing to working families.”

Tom Tiffany: “So with the tariffs that are being done, bringing industry back to America, mills and factories are going to be able to be built once again. I mean, all these things are really good things.”

Derrick Van Orden: “When it comes to how President Trump has handled tariffs, Van Orden said they have been a success…”

Bryan Steil: “I think it’s [tariffs] to the benefit of all of us, in particular, hard working American families, that we get to the end game, which I hope is free, fair, reciprocal trade.”

Tony Wied: “Tariffs can be very effective again, in order to bring more jobs back here in order to get people to build more companies, like you said, whether that’s where minerals and automobiles manufacturing chip there’s just so many opportunities that we have in this country. It really is a golden age right now.”

Glenn Grothman: “Rep. Glenn Grothman, R-Wis., told Newsmax on Tuesday that President-elect Donald Trump’s plan to raise tariffs on several of the United States’ largest trading partners will help the ‘shortage of labor in our factories.’”

Scott Fitzgerald: “But when it comes to the tariffs, I think what we’re starting to see in the last couple of days is some big successes.”

Bill Berrien: “We’re very optimistic about the impact of the tariffs.”

Josh Schoemann: “I mean, that is, you know, one of the number one rules of being a leader is, do what you say you’re going to do, I think it’s what has people most shocked about Donald Trump. He ran on, you know, curing, fixing illegal immigration. He ran on tariffs, and, you know, he ran on the concept of DOGE. Now he’s actually doing it.”
