BREAKING: WisDems Chair Statement in Response to Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu’s Retirement

MADISON, Wis. — Following Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu’s retirement announcement, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Devin Remiker released the following statement:

“All potential Republican candidates should take note: Both of your leaders have abandoned you. Your policies are causing working people to turn against you in droves as the Trump administration crashes and burns. Consider retiring alongside your colleagues before you are voted out in November.”

LeMahieu’s retirement is the latest in a series of prominent Wisconsin Republicans announcing their retirement this year. His retirement follows Speaker Robin Vos, Speaker Pro Tempore Kevin Peterson, Justice Annette Ziegler, State Sen. Van Wanggaard, State Sen. Rob Hutton, State Sen. Steve Nass, and State Rep. Rick Gundrum.
