GOP Gov Candidate Tom Tiffany Holding Fundraiser With GOP Mega-Donors During Government Shutdown
MADISON, Wis. — Seventh Congressional Representative and GOP gubernatorial frontrunner Tom Tiffany was quick to leave DC last week, abandoning his job to stop a government shutdown and instead announcing his next career move. Now, just one day into the shutdown, Tiffany is gearing up for a fundraiser with some of Wisconsin’s biggest donors — including Liz Uhlein. The event, scheduled for Friday, costs as much as $20,000 to attend. As Tiffany sells his agenda to the highest bidder, 18,000 federal employees in Wisconsin are wondering if they’ll get their next paycheck.
“We are only a week into Tom Tiffany’s gubernatorial candidacy, and he’s already proving that serving the ultra wealthy will always come first, no matter the cost it comes at for working Wisconsinites,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman. “Tom Tiffany has made his priorities clear and Wisconsinites will know it.”
