Hiding Hovde: This Wednesday, Eric Hovde’s Bank Will Be Forced to Reveal If It Is Still Accepting Deposits from Foreign Governments
MADISON, Wis. — On Wednesday, Eric Hovde’s bank will be forced to reveal how much money it’s been taking from foreign governments since April.
Earlier this month, a report from Heartland Signal broke the news that since 2017, Hovde’s bank has been taking millions of dollars from foreign banks and started to accept money from foreign governments just as Hovde was about to enter the U.S. Senate race.
Hovde has refused to give up ownership or divest from his $3.2 billion California bank if elected to the Senate. Hovde’s ownership of his bank while that bank is taking millions of dollars from foreign banks and foreign governments raises serious questions if he were to be elected to the U.S. Senate.
Hovde has still not answered:
-
How much is he actually worth? Is he a billionaire?
-
Which foreign governments is his bank taking money from? China? Russia? Iran?
-
Why did Hovde’s bank start accepting money from foreign governments as he planned his Senate campaign?
-
How can we trust he will vote in the interests of Wisconsinites and not his bank and their foreign clients?
