Speaking In California, Eric Hovde Announced Opposition To $5.6 Billion Investments In Wisconsin Infrastructure

MADISON, Wis. — Today is the two year anniversary of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that has since led to $5.6 billion of bipartisan investments in Wisconsin, thanks to the bipartisan work of Tammy Baldwin.

These vital, bipartisan investments will fix the roads, reduce PFAS in our water, improve access to high speed internet in rural areas, and increase manufacturing and made-in-America jobs in Wisconsin.

However, two years after Tammy Baldwin worked hard to secure these bipartisan wins for Wisconsin, megamillionaire bank owner Eric Hovde (R–Laguna Beach) announced he opposed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Earlier this month, while speaking at a luxury resort in Newport Beach, CA at his $2 billion bank’s annual California conference, Hovde railed against the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.

“There’s nothing more out-of-touch than a California banker announcing his opposition to bipartisan investments in Wisconsin while speaking for his $2 billion bank in California. While Hovde and his California bank friends keep opposing bipartisan investments in Wisconsin, Tammy Baldwin will keep fighting for working families,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.
