See key details below:
- For the first time in 16 years, there is a wide-open election for Wisconsin’s next governor. With seven Democrats and two Republicans in the race, party leadership on both sides are already crafting game plans for the 2026 midterms.
- “I think it’s entirely possible we will see more candidates hop into the primary,” Devin Remiker, chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin said. “I think that’s a good thing.”
- Remiker said Wisconsin Democrats are focused on voter outreach and targeting Republican candidate U.S. Rep. Tom Tiffany.
- “Elected officials like Tariff Tom have to answer for their actual record,” Remiker said.
- More than a year out from the general election, Wisconsin Democrats launched a statewide ad buy targeting Tiffany that aired during last weekend’s Packers game.
- “We spent a significant amount,” Remiker said. “We will continue to apprise ourselves of opportunities to keep… ads like this going into the future.”
