Colorado Democrat Congressman Jason Crow will be in Eau Claire on Wednesday, Feb. 25, to campaign against the district’s incumbent representative, Congressman Derrick Van Orden, R-Prairie du Chien. The theme of the event will be veterans’ issues and health care.
“Wisconsin deserves servant leaders who show up, listen, and focus on making life easier for working people,” Crow said in a statement exclusively shared with Spectrum News 1. “Derrick Van Orden is part of the problem, as Republicans have taken away your health care, passed tax cuts for the rich, and protected the corrupt elite in Washington. I grew up in Wisconsin and look forward to being back in the Badger state as Democrats work to take back Congress.”

Both Van Orden and Crow served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Van Orden retired from the Navy after 26 years as a Navy SEAL Senior Chief. Crow served as an Army Ranger and earned a Bronze Star for his combat actions during the invasion of Iraq.
The Democratic Party of Wisconsin said the town hall will include veterans and Wisconsinites who rely on the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid or Medicare.
“We are grateful to one of Wisconsin’s own, Congressman Jason Crow, for coming back to his home state to show Wisconsinites in the third congressional district what a real leader looks like,” Devin Remiker, chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, said in a statement. “Working people are clamoring for a representative who offers real solutions to the affordability crisis, unlike Derrick Van Orden, who still refuses to hold a town hall in his own district.”
