In First Interview as Gov Candidate, Tom Tiffany Flip-Flops On Support for 6 Week Abortion Ban
MADISON, Wis. — In his first interview as a GOP gubernatorial candidate, WI-07 Rep. Tom Tiffany reversed his stance on abortion. Tiffany tried to hide behind Wisconsin’s current law , but his past is clear: he co-sponsored federal legislation in 2023 that would ban abortion after just 6 weeks.
“Tom Tiffany knows his record is too extreme for Wisconsin, so he is already working on covering it up,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman. “Tiffany has spent years trying to take away Wisconsinite’s reproductive freedom, including cosponsoring a 6-week abortion ban, but is now following his DC playbook of pretending that never happened. Wisconsinites don’t need another politician like Tom Tiffany trying to make decisions for them.”
