LISTEN: Conservative Commentator Mark Belling Calls for Eric Hovde and Scott Mayer To Be Removed From Voter Rolls Over Poor Voting Record

MADISON, Wis. — In response to reports that two of the GOP’s possible Senate candidates, Scott Mayer and Eric Hovde (R–Laguna Beach) have repeatedly failed to vote in Wisconsin, conservative commentator Mark Belling called for both Hovde and Mayer to be removed from the Wisconsin voter rolls over their poor voting records.

In addition to criticizing Hovde and Mayer for providing “lame” or no excuses for their failure to vote and asking why we should trust someone who doesn’t care enough to vote to be a member of the U.S. Senate, Belling has also said Hovde “repels actual Republican voters” and Mayer “seemed clueless.”

Listen to the full audio here and see the full transcript below:

The fact that we are not following the law and properly purging the voter rolls of people who have not voted in multiple years.

You think that they’d wanna do that for no other reason than it would get the two Republicans running for the United States Senate in Wisconsin off the voter rolls given the fact that NEITHER OF THEM EVER VOTE!

Hovde votes a few times, Mayer apparently can’t be bothered.

Neither of them has offered any explanation yet for this.

Hovde is saying ‘well I don’t vote in primaries, I live in Madison’ and so on and it’s a lame explanation, but it is one.

Mayer didn’t have one.

[…]

If you don’t care enough to vote in an election, I don’t know why we should trust you to be one of a hundred people to vote on the future decisions of our nation.

But I get that beggars can’t be choosers, and the only two prominent Republicans we have that are angling to run for the United States Senate apparently are the guy who votes some of the time, Hovde, and the guy who votes hardly any of the time, Mayer.
