WHINE WEDNESDAY: Van Orden’s Twitter Use Wrapped
Welcome to Whine Wednesday with Derrick Van Orden, America’s fiercest keyboard warrior. We comb through the hundreds of tweets DVO posts during a week so you don’t have to. Grab a glass and join us for Whine Wednesday!
MADISON, Wis. — Van Orden has had quite the head-spinning past two weeks as evidenced by his 63 tweets. From supporting extremist groups to parading around the Trump administration’s b-team, you can find all the highlights (or lowlights) of Van Orden’s online presence this past week below.
DVO’S DADDY OF THE WEEK: MIKE JOHNSON
As the election rolls closer, Derrick Van Orden is continuing his parade of b-string Trump officials across the 3rd Congressional District, and last week he brought out the big guns. Speaker Mike Johnson, you know, one of the least popular politicians in the country.
So great to have you out, Mike and gang!
Let’s win this in November! https://t.co/nCyAFzM7Gf

At this point, we have to give it to Van Orden, he’s loyal—just not to the people he is supposed to represent. Instead, Van Orden continues to show his loyalty to his buddies out in D.C., all while working Wisconsinites are struggling to keep their head above water. We have to assume Van Orden sees the writing on the wall and knows his job is gone in November, and instead of campaigning to save it, he is trying to prove his loyalty to the Trump administration in order to get a job after he loses his congressional seat. For what? We’re not sure what exactly Van Orden is qualified for… but we did hear that an ambassador position has opened up recently, and we know that Van Orden likes to travel.
WORST TAKE: VOTE REPUBLICAN FOR $5000
Does Derrick Van Orden think his constituents are dumb? This is the question we ask ourselves every week as he seems to fall more and more off of the deep end. His new tactic is saying Democrats are going to give $5000 checks to undocumented immigrants if they gain control of the house in November.
And there you have it.

Yeah, he’s getting real desperate. Sorry that Trump’s midterm plan of buying off the election failed, we thought y’all learned your lesson in 2025 when you flew this dweeb out to try and buy an election:

DVO <3’S MOMS FOR LIBERTY
This week, Van Orden also felt the need to voice his support for Moms for Liberty, you know, that group that supports banning books and received backlash after one of its chapters literally quoted Hitler?
AWESOME! https://t.co/LufVKApf92

It’s really funny that elected officials like Van Orden will praise groups like Moms for Liberty that consistently villainizes teachers, and then question why the American education system is struggling. Can you imagine how much learning was happening if schools weren’t constantly trying to defend themselves over fake outrage hoaxes grifters like Van Orden use to create chaos?
I’M NOT YOUR RESEARCH ASSISTANT BUDDY
Okay seriously someone needs to get Van Orden a Brick or something for his phone. Our country is literally at war and Van Orden is … commenting under a “LibsofTikTok” post asking if things are real?
Is this real?
— Derrick Van Orden (@derrickvanorden) October 7, 2026
Really rich coming from a guy who regularly falls for AI slop and once told a constituent, “I’m not a research assistant, buddy.” Seriously, are we supposed to trust a guy to represent over 740,000 people who has to ask a Turning Point Action employee if a post from an account called “Libs of TikTok” is real?
Sincerely,
DVO’s Whine Club
