WHINE WEDNESDAY: Van Orden’s Twitter Use Wrapped
Welcome to Whine Wednesday with Derrick Van Orden, America’s fiercest keyboard warrior. We comb through the hundreds of tweets DVO posts during a week so you don’t have to. Grab a glass and join us for Whine Wednesday!
MADISON, Wis. — Welcome back to Whine Wednesday—we know it’s been a minute, our editor was on a much needed vacation! We’re back in your inbox, and with just 48 days until the election, it’s time to remind everyone that Derrick Van Orden is not fit to represent Congress.
Van Orden has had quite the head-spinning past week as evidenced by his 79 tweets. From embracing Elon Musk’s attempt to buy another Wisconsin election to continuing to lie about BadgerCare funding, you can find all the highlights (or lowlights) of Van Orden’s online presence this past week below.
DVO’S DADDY OF THE WEEK: Elon Musk
If you’ve been following Wisconsin politics for the last two years, there’s one thing voters can agree on: we don’t want politicians who are bought-and-paid-for puppets of the world’s richest man, Elon Musk. And Musk is back in our state, trying to buy himself a congressman in Derrick Van Orden. Van Orden’s response? He’s fully embracing it.
I got elected, dipshit.

Van Orden is perfectly fine being bought by Elon Musk if it means he gets re-elected. Honestly, we’re not surprised—he’s been more focused on pleasing his D.C puppetmasters than actually working for the people of Wisconsin, so of course he’s cashing checks from a guy Wisconsinites have already rejected.
WORST TAKE: Why won’t the media spread my lies?
In typical Van Orden fashion, he’s too busy lying on social media and pointing fingers about why his re-election campaign is in free fall to actually fix the issues. Instead of looking in the mirror, Van Orden keeps copying and pasting the same lie-filled diatribe about “saving” BadgerCare, despite voting to gut its funding.
I hope he actually takes the time to read that.
The reason we did the convention was to tell folks what the media WON’T!

Van Orden keeps insisting he had to go to Trump-a-palooza in another state to tell the truth the mainstream media “won’t cover.” You want the real truth about this campaign? Van Orden is crashing out because his constituents aren’t as stupid as he thought they were. Who knew—cutting people’s healthcare funding and then running on a platform of “securing” that same funding, while voters watch their healthcare costs climb, isn’t the strongest campaign strategy.
TOUGH GUY: Go F*ck Yourself
Van Orden’s current Twitter spiral is all about proving he’s a tough guy (can anyone say overcompensating?). It’d be one thing if it came from your uncle’s Facebook page — but this is a post from a sitting member of Congress:
I will not.
— Derrick Van Orden (@derrickvanorden) September 14, 2026
This would be great, if he were telling the people stealing Wisconsinites’ healthcare and raising gas prices to “go f*ck themselves.” However Van Orden usually saves those profanities for harmless teenage senate staffers and librarians, while approving of every cost-raising policy Daddy Trump proposes.
Sincerely,
DVO’s Whine Club
