WI GOP’s Potential Senate Candidates Have a Record of Opposing Marriage Equality

MADISON, Wis. — June marks the start of Pride Month, and Wisconsinites are going to hold potential GOP Senate candidates accountable for their record of opposing marriage equality.

What to know about potential Senate candidates’ anti-marriage equality record:

  • Tom Tiffany voted against a bipartisan law that protects marriage equality for Wisconsinites.
  • David Clarke opposed the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling that protected Wisconsinites’ right to marry and called for “rage” and “revolt” in the wake of the decision.
  • Eric Hovde doesn’t believe in marriage equality for all Wisconsinites and was endorsed by a far-right anti-LGBTQ+ group.
