Wisconsin Democrats Blanket the State to Call Out Trump for Putting the NRA Over Wisconsinites’ Safety

MADISON, Wis. — As Donald Trump heads to another National Rifle Association convention to pander to the gun lobby, Wisconsin Democrats and gun violence prevention advocates were out in full force across the state to call out how Trump has put the NRA over the safety of our communities. While Donald Trump has caved to the NRA at every turn, President Biden and Wisconsin Democrats are fighting to bring an end to the gun violence epidemic once and for all.

See how Democrats came out to reject Trump’s dangerous agenda in Wisconsin:

IN LA CROSSE: Senator Brad Pfaff was joined by young voters Evan Smazal and Emily Anderson, who have personal experiences with gun safety and gun violence, to call out Donald Trump and Wisconsin Republicans for jeopardizing Wisconsinites’ safety by blocking common sense gun safety reforms and making the gun epidemic worse.

IN MILWAUKEE: Mayor Cavalier Johnson joined community gun violence prevention advocates for a roundtable discussion about the impact of gun violence in our communities, and why it’s critical we reelect President Biden and Vice President Harris this November to continue the work they’ve done to end the gun violence epidemic. With first-hand experience losing loved ones to gun violence, participants at the roundtable blasted Donald Trump for placing the gun lobby over the safety of their families and kids.

IN MADISON: Sheriff Kalvin Barrett, Senator Kelda Roys, Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, and local gun violence prevention advocate Derek Hoesly came together to discuss local, state, and federal efforts to bring an end to the gun violence epidemic. As Mayor Rhodes-Conway said, while Donald Trump and Wisconsin Republicans take their cues from the NRA and advance dangerous legislation to make our communities less safe, it’s President Biden and Vice President Harris who will keep working to end gun violence once and for all.
