Wisconsin Democrats on Republicans’ Joint Finance No-Show

MADISON, Wis. — After Republican lawmakers on the GOP-controlled Joint Finance Committee today ignored Governor Evers’ call for a special meeting to release already-approved funding to address PFAS contamination and support the continuation of health care services in western Wisconsin, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Communications Director Joe Oslund released the following statement:

“True to form, Wisconsin Republicans again failed to show up to work while communities across our state struggle. It’s absurd that the Republican politicians on the Joint Finance Committee are allowing funding to address PFAS contamination and to support health care in western Wisconsin to sit in Madison, approved and unused, while the challenges facing our communities continue. Make no mistake—while Republicans have in the past escaped accountability behind gerrymandered lines, the day of reckoning for their countless failures of leadership is finally coming this November.”
