MADISON, Wis. — Ahead of Vice President Harris’ visit to Wisconsin today, Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Ben Wikler released the following statement welcoming the vice president back to the Badger State:
“With the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the Biden-Harris Administration delivered a once-in-a-generation investment in our nation’s roads, bridges, railroads, and broadband infrastructure—all without the support of a single Wisconsin Republican in Congress. Wisconsin Democrats are proud to welcome Vice President Harris back to the Badger State to celebrate this accomplishment—among the many others—that the Biden-Harris Administration has made for the Badger State. The record is clear: if you want a team that builds, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are just the ticket.”
Here’s a look at just a few ways the Biden-Harris Administration has delivered for Wisconsinites:
- So far, the Biden Administration has committed $1.4 billion in funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to provide affordable, reliable high-speed internet to everyone in Wisconsin.
- In addition, 379,500 households in Wisconsin are saving $30-75 per month on high-speed internet through the Biden Administration’s Affordable Connectivity Program.
- With these allocations and other Biden administration investments, Wisconsin has the resources to connect every resident and small business to reliable, affordable high-speed internet by 2030.
- Under the Biden-Harris Administration and Democrats’ leadership, unemployment is down to 2.5% in Wisconsin, with 149,400 new jobs created – including manufacturing jobs.
- Georgia-Pacific committed to a $500 million expansion of its Green Bay paper-related production facility, bringing on 100 new employees and hiring over 500 construction workers.
- Under the Biden-Harris Administration, private companies have announced $3 billion so far in commitments to invest in 21st century industries like clean energy and biomanufacturing.
- WEC Energy Group announced its $426 million plan for the state’s first large-scale solar and battery storage project outside of Milwaukee.
