Mike Tate
State Chair


Mike was elected State Chair in June 2009.  At age 30, he is the youngest state party chair in the nation. Mike has worked for Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, Governor Jim Doyle, AFSCME Council 40, and Fair Wisconsin.  Most recently, Mike directed Advancing Wisconsin’s vast voter mobilization effort in 2008, helping boost turnout in key legislative districts and the presidential election.

Jake Hajdu
Executive Director


Jake has extensive political experience both locally and nationally. He has worked for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin since 2009, previously serving as the Political Director, Organizing Director, and Deputy Field Director on the 2010 Wisconsin Coordinated Campaign. Jake’s previous campaign experience includes working for Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, State Representative Kelda Helen Roys, and Smoke Free Wisconsin. Jake serves on the board of the Democratic Leadership Institute and is a Truman Project Political Partner.

Melissa Baldauff
Communications Director


During her tenure with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, Melissa has worked extensively on research, policy, digital strategy and earned media. 

Prior to joining the WisDems staff in 2010, Melissa worked in local government, researching and drafting legislation. She holds degrees in mathematics and criminology. Melissa lives in Madison with her husband and their two young children.

Brandon Weathersby
Deputy Communications Director


Brandon Weathersby joined DPW as Deputy Communications Director in 2013. In the past he has worked as Communications Specialist for SEIU and Communications Assistant on the Tammy Baldwin for Senate campaign. He also serves on the board of the Democratic Leadership Institute. Brandon is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison with degrees in Political Science, Legal Studies, and Environmental Studies.

Cory Liebmann
Research Director


Cory Liebmann joined DPW as Research Director in 2013.  In the past he worked as an opposition research consultant at Liebmann Associates.  Cory has been a licensed private investigator for 15 years specializing in criminal defense.  He also served as the Research Director and Blog Editor for One Wisconsin Now from 2006-2008.

Brita Olsen
Political Director


Brita Olsen joined DPW as Political Director in 2013. Prior to joining the DPW team, Brita worked as a Legislative Aide for State Representative Cory Mason. Brita also worked for the campaigns of the Assembly Democratic Campaign Committee, Kathleen Falk for Wisconsin, Advancing Wisconsin, and We Are Wisconsin. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a degree in Political Science and Communication Arts.

Sean Berger
Membership & Conventions Director


Sean has assumed leadership roles with a variety of nonprofit organizations, and has been with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin since 2009. Prior to working with the DPW, Sean coordinated programming at Cancer Lifeline, an organization that provides supportive services for people affected by cancer. Sean has also served as the Director of a nonprofit, continuing education college in Seattle, Washington. He is a co-founder & former board member of a Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) chapter. Sean holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies from the University of Washington and lives in Madison with his partner Ana.

Amy Regner
Deputy Membership Director


In the fall of 2012, Amy began interning at DPW and volunteered for the final stretch of the election cycle. She then interned for State Senator Jon Erpenbach before returning to DPW as the Deputy Membership Director in September 2013.
Amy continues to work hard for the State Party, from improving the membership program to helping party leaders, while being a full-time student at UW-Madison. She is currently completing a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, English Literature, and History. In addition to her majors, Amy is learning Arabic. She plans on studying abroad and becoming politically engaged in Jordan during the spring of 2015.

Julie Benkoske
Finance Director


A recent addition to the DPW, Julie joined the team during the historic 2011 Senate recalls. Originally hired as a call time manager, Julie became the Regional Finance Director for Jess King’s successful campaign for State Senate and then Deputy Finance Director for the Recall Walker Campaign. Julie continues to work to elect progressive leaders for Wisconsin and raise funds for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and Statewide Coordinated Campaign.

Tiernan Donohue
Coordinated Deputy Finance Director


Tiernan joined the DPW as Coordinated Deputy Finance Director in 2014. Previously, she worked as the Deputy Finance Director for Val Arkoosh for Congress in Philadelphia. Tiernan also worked on Val Deming's Red to Blue Congressional race in Florida during the 2012 election cycle. She is a graduate of American University with degrees in political science and history.

Amanda Brink
Operations & Compliance Director


A transplanted Missourian, Amanda has been with the DPW since 2010 and brings a background in compliance, logistics, and grassroots coordination. She first became involved in Barack Obama's presidential bid in August 2007, and her work for the campaign consisted of grassroots mobilization in the states of Iowa, Wisconsin and Missouri. In local Missouri races, she has helped guide Democrats to victory in Republican strongholds. She has experience in business management and enjoys spending time her husband, Derek, and their two malteses, Truman and Malcolm.

Bryan Post
Data & Analytics Director


Bryan Post is the Data and Analytics Director for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. He previously worked as a Deputy Data Director at Organizing for America – Wisconsin in 2012, and was the Data Entry Coordinator following the 2011/2012 recall elections. Bryan worked in the Wisconsin State Capitol building for the Assembly Sergeant-At-Arms during the 2011 protests, and was the campaign manager for now State Assembly Representative Janis Ringhand in 2010. In 2009 and 2010 Bryan worked in the office of then Assembly Speaker Michael Sherdian, and managed Dane County Supervisor Dave de Felice’s re-election campaign. Prior to entering politics Bryan was a Manufacturing Engineer at P&H Mining Equipment in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and has a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering  (2008) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Bryan is also passionate about local issues, especially development in the city of Madison. He is involved in his neighborhood, where he serves on the Council of the Tenney-Lapham Neighborhood Association.
