Reminder: Eric Hovde Called the Bipartisan Bill to Secure the Border “Crazy Ass” and “Rotten”

MADISON, Wis. — Reminder: California bank owner Eric Hovde opposed the most significant, bipartisan bill to secure our border in years, calling the bill “crazy ass” and “rotten” at a closed door GOP event.

The bipartisan border bill included Senator Tammy Baldwin’s “FEND Off Fentanyl” proposal to target the illegal fentanyl supply chain by disrupting and disbanding the Mexican cartels engaged in fentanyl trafficking and was supported by the Border Patrol Union.

“Eric Hovde’s record is clear. Instead of standing with the men and women who protect our border, he gave into partisan extremists’ pressure to reject the bipartisan proposal. We can’t trust him to keep Wisconsin communities safe,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.
