On the Anniversary of the Dobbs Decision, WisDems Release New Video Highlighting Eric Hovde’s Support for Overturning of Roe v. Wade
Eric Hovde is a threat to Wisconsinites’ reproductive freedom
MADISON, Wis. — Two years ago today, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, stripping women across the country of rights they had for nearly 50 years and immediately causing Wisconsin’s 1849 abortion ban to go into effect
Eric Hovde pushed to overturn Roe v. Wade, celebrated the decision, and is now trying to pass a national abortion ban. Eric Hovde has proved time and time again he opposes reproductive freedom and will not protect Wisconsinites’ reproductive rights.
“Eric Hovde has made his position on abortion crystal clear. If he’s elected, he’ll be a vote to ban abortion and restrict reproductive freedom. Wisconsinites cannot trust Eric Hovde with their reproductive rights,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Rapid Response Director Arik Wolk.
See below for more on the threat that Eric Hovde poses to reproductive freedom:
-
Hovde supported the overturning of Roe v. Wade and doubled down on his support for the Dobbs decision.
-
Hovde proclaims himself as “totally opposed to abortion” and that he “oppose[s] legalized abortion” “from conception.”
-
Hovde believes an abortion ban would be “reasonable.”
-
Hovde was endorsed by a far-right anti-abortion group whose mission is to make abortion “legally unacceptable,” the group endorsing Hovde because he showed “strong support for federal right-to-life issues.”
