ICYMI: Wisconsin Democrats Call Out Eric Hovde’s Anti-Abortion Record in Green Bay, Madison, and Milwaukee
MADISON, Wis. — Today, Wisconsin Democrats throughout the state held press conferences highlighting California bank owner Eric Hovde’s record of opposing abortion rights and pushing to restrict Wisconsinites’ freedom to make their own medical decisions.
In Green Bay, Dr. Kristin Lyerly and Dr. Anna Igler, two OB-GYNs on the forefront of the fight to protect reproductive freedom in Wisconsin, talked about the threat of Republicans like Eric Hovde and Donald Trump to Wisconsinites’ ability to make their own medical decisions. They also discussed their personal and professional experiences on reproductive freedom and the new threat to access to IVF, brought about by the overturning of Roe v. Wade, which was supported by Trump and Hovde.
In Madison, UW-Medical Students spoke about their experiences as future providers in a state that faced an abortion ban, and State Senator Kelda Roys spoke about Eric Hovde’s long record of being “totally opposed to abortion.”
In Milwaukee, Lt. Governor Sara Rodriguez and Planned Parenthood Advocates of WI President Tanya Atkinson spoke about the realities of Eric Hovde’s radical anti-abortion record and how Wisconsinites know that he wouldn’t fight to protect reproductive freedoms in the Senate.
